Excursion destination around Radein

As quiet and secluded as Radein is, if you feel like a stroll through town, visiting museums or experiencing the Italian way of life, you can reach some of the most beautiful towns in the region in no time:

  • Bolzano – South Tyrol's lively capital – is only a 40-minute drive from the Pitschlhof. Here you will find historic arcades, small boutiques, cosy cafés and the famous Ötzi Museum (South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology).

  • Merano, the charming spa town with thermal baths, gardens and Mediterranean flair, can be reached in about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Ideal for a day trip with a stroll through the town and a detour to the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle.

  • Trento, already on the Italian side, can be reached in about 1 hour. The city offers a beautiful old town, numerous shops and the modern MUSE science museum, which is particularly exciting for children.

If you've had enough of the hustle and bustle, return to Radein – to the fresh mountain air, the tranquillity of the forest and the familiar crackling of the tiled stove at the Pitschlhof.

Forest bathing in Radein –
the pure nature experience

Get out of your head. Into the forest.

The forest begins right next to the Pitschlhof – a place where you don't have to do much except be. Here you can sit under spruce trees, listen to the rustling of the leaves and breathe in the scent of the forest floor. This quiet pause – often referred to today as forest bathing – has a special quality in Radein. Nothing is staged. Everything is real. The air. The light. The tranquillity.

A moment in the forest replaces many words – and remains as a memory of a special place.
